Take the time of Carnaval break to read Langston Hughes's poems in the anthology and Toni Morison's "Recitatif". Answer at least to one of the following:

1. Choose your favorite poem by Langston Hughes and analyze it with close reading skills.

2. Comment on points of contact or contrast between any poem and Toni Morrison's short story.

Caricature: art that exaggerates physical experience (the animus - one reason for anthropomorfization)

Speech (ballloons or bubbles appear more often in comics)

Written commentary or caption

Comics are “juxtaposed pictorial and other images in a deliberate sequence, intended to convey information and/or produce an aesthetic response in the viewer.” (Scott McCoud, Understanding Comics, 1994)
